The photo piles say LOOK ONLY.

You told the app iCloud Photos is on and chose to keep deletes locked, or you have not answered yet. Tap the yellow banner on the home screen to change it. With iCloud Photos on, deleting a photo here also deletes it from iCloud and your other devices.

I deleted things but the space did not come back.

Deleted photos and videos wait in Photos, Recently Deleted for 30 days, and deleted files wait in the Files app under Recently Deleted. Empty those and the space returns right away.

It refuses the folder I picked.

DELETEONATOR only opens folders stored on the device: On My iPhone or On My iPad and the app folders inside it. iCloud Drive and other cloud drives are refused on purpose.

I only see a few photos.

You gave it limited access. Open Settings, DELETEONATOR, Photos and choose Full Access.

MAC

My device does not show up.

Plug it straight into the Mac with a data cable (not through a hub), unlock it, and tap Trust on the device. Then press REFRESH. A cable that only charges will not work.

There are no sizes.

Sizes come over the cable and can take up to a minute on a full device. Keep the device unlocked while it reads.

An app would not delete.

Unlock the device and try again. Some built-in Apple apps cannot be removed at all.

Where is my download?

Go to the DELETEONATOR page, tap “I already bought it” and enter your checkout email.
